Welcome to IIT Bombay Racing, "India's premier Formula Student Electric team". Our mission is to revolutionize electric mobility in India by focusing on sustainable technologies and innovations. We are dedicated to participating in prestigious international competitions such as Formula Student, where we showcase our cutting-edge electric car designs.
In the 2022 season, we proudly participated in FSUK with our stunning electric car, "EVoLV". Moving forward, we are excited to announce that we are currently manufacturing our 13th car, which boasts a lightweight carbon fiber chassis.

Our team has both Organizational and technical divisions which are further divided into mechanical, electrical and driverless
The Electrical div divided into 4 sub-systems
Powertrain: Manufacturing a custom Battery.
Low Voltage Safety: All the safety tests of the vehicle is done using a Low Voltage Safety circuit which checks errors in vehicle safety responses.
E-Differential: To provide improved control to the vehicle, a closed loop electronic differential is implemented with the help of a simulated E-diff model.
Data Acquisition: A CAN based Data Acquisition System logs real time data that can be used to tweak and fine tune the vehicle performance
The Mechanical div is divided into 3 sub-systems :
Chassis, Aerodynamics and System Integration: Vital to ensure that all the parts come together and ensures coordination of mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies.
Vehicle Dynamics: The Vehicle dynamics subsystem includes the Suspension, steering, brakes and wheel hub-upright sub-assemblies.
Powertrain: The Powertrain subsystem is responsible for the design and manufacturing of the gearbox and the cooling system, along with the implementation Electronic Differential.
Our Organizational div is divided into 3 sub-systems:
Marketing and Media: Taking care of all the Monetary associations with sponsors and also Technical associations with various leading industries in their genre.
Operations and Events: Handling the year-long events organized by the team, spread across a timeline of 9 months.
Web and Creatives: Looking after the all the creatives required throughout the year apart from the actual design
The driverless div is divided into 4 sub-systems :
Perception and localisation: Responsible for detecting the cones in the environment using cameras and lidar, slam algorithm uses the data of perceived cones and creates a map of the track along with localising the car on it
Path planning: Plans the path the car needs to follow for optimum lap and decides the throttle and steering commands for the same
Controls: Looks after the control algorithms required for the steering and brake actuators including emergency braking system.
